Exile II: Inferno- Chapter 4: Demon Minion
Yoh and the others quickly followed Silva to Patch
Village. After a long plane ride of Horo Horo running around, Ren trying
to shut him up, Pirika trying to shut both of them up, and the rest of
their routine, the group made it to the desert. With a stretch, Yoh led
the others off the plane and into the wasteland.
"That wasn’t so bad." Yoh said.
"Easy for you to say." Ren replied. "Your new plane
did not just get ruined."
"How was I supposed to know I get airsick?" Horo Horo said.
"You were running around like an idiot!" Ren yelled.
"I was not." Horo Horo replied.
"Yes, you were."
"No, I wasn’t."
"Yes, you were." Pirika joined the argument on Ren’s
side.
"No, I wasn’t."
"Yes, you were!" Everyone yelled at Horo Horo. Horo Horo
sweatdropped and finally dropped the topic.
"So, let’s go everyone! To Patch Village!" Yoh said.
After hours of walking, Patch Village was finally in their sights.
Silva stood at the edge of the village with his spirits to greet them.
Yoh replied with his own greeting while leading the others into the
village.
"Welcome Yoh." Silva said.
"Hi Silva." Yoh said. "So why did you need us to come
here?"
"Follow me and I’ll explain." Silva said, as he led them
into a dwelling. Inside was a fire and various shaman items. "Do
not mind the mess." Silva said as everyone sat down. It was pretty
cramped. Yoh kept brushing up against Anna and getting fierce glares,
while Ren kept telling Horo Horo to move. Pirika and Tamao tried to not
get pushed around by the clammer. Ryu could barely fit with his hair,
and Lyserg and Jeanne had to stand in the doorway.
"So what’s the deal, Silva?" Anna asked.
"As I have told you, the Great Spirit is in discouragement.
Something has caused the Great Spirit to experience intense strain. Your
Oracle Pager broke because of it."
"What could have caused the strain?" Yoh asked.
"Right now, I’m not sure." Silva said. "But there
are some clues to all of this. Recently, villages have been devastated
by what is said to be a ‘hellion beast’. Many have been killed by
this monster, and very little information is in use."
"So this hellion spirit could be the cause of the Great Spirit’s
strain?" Yoh asked.
"As I said, I’m not sure." As Silva finished his reply, a
trembling was heard in the distance. The ground beneath them began to
shake and screams could be heard from outside. Hearing the noises, Yoh
pushed through the crowd to see what was outside. He immediately was in
shock. Outside, was a gigantic spirit. It was red and had battle scars
on its body. It had a body similar to Hao’s Spirit of Fire, but this
one was much more tattered with battle scars and it had fangs and claws
much more noticeable. The Patch people were in total pandemonium. The
women and children were panicked and running about, while the shamanic
warriors tried to fend off the colossus. The rest of Yoh’s group
followed him out and joined his stare of astonishment.
"Is this the monster you were talking about, Silva?" Yoh
asked.
"I’ve never seen it before, so I wouldn’t know. But we must
fight it. It’s destroying the village." The beast quickly turned
its head toward the group and stomped its way toward them. Yoh and his
friends stepped back in defense. Silva lit his oversouls and dashed in
front of the monster. The fiend swung its humongous arm and smacked
Silva to the side. With a strong cry of pain, Silva smashed against the
ground, immediately losing furyoku and disengaging his oversouls.
"Silva’s down from one hit?!" Horo Horo said.
"Unbelievable." Lyserg said. Silva wretched in pain. Yoh
quickly ran over to him.
"Yoh..." Silva said, barely conscious.
"Silva! Hang on!" Yoh said. "Ryu! Lyserg! Jeanne! Get
Silva away from here!" Ryu, Lyserg and Jeanne nodded and hauled
Silva into another dwelling. As they left, Yoh turned to the beast.
"Amidamaru!" Yoh summoned Amidamaru and quickly flared his
oversoul. The light was brighter than usual. Yoh was angry; one would
think his furyoku would drain, but he stayed cool and stared the monster
down. Ren and Horo Horo ignited their oversouls as well. "Guys!
Attack it together!"
"Vorpal Dance!" Ren rained kwan dao shots on the beast.
"Kaukau Priwenpe!" Horo Horo bulleted thousand of ice
projectiles.
"Shinkuu Buddagiri!" Yoh fired a strong wave of air at the
fiend. They all stood back, blinded by their attacks’ resulting smoke.
"I think we got it!" Horo Horo said.
"Not yet." Ren sternly said. The smoke began to slowly fade
and the giant’s glowing red body still shined. Various scars were on
its body, but it was still standing. A huge claw slash tore across the
shaman’s positions. They narrowly escaped being torn to shreds by the
monster’s mad attacks. The demon would not stop slashing. It swung its
arms in complete chaos and ripped apart the terrain and habitations
nearby, Yoh realized that the dwelling that Silva was in could be next.
Unleashing a furious sword thrust, Yoh caught the demon’s attention
and diverted it into the already desecrated area of the village. The
beast continued its infernal rage, mindlessly tearing through the air
with its sharp claws and biting with its equally sharp fangs. Yoh, Ren,
and Horo Horo got in more hits, but the effects remained the same. The
fiend was barely fazed and torn apart the ground with its attacks. After
a significant amount of time, the beast’s attacks began to weaken and
become less vicious. It slowed down and missed most of its onslaughts.
"I think it’s getting tired." Horo Horo said.
"It does seem slower." Ren said.
"Don’t drop your guard." Yoh said. The monster’s body
began to glow brighter. The scars became invisible from the shine. Yoh
widened his eyes. "Look out! It’s gonna attack!" he yelled.
The beast raised its arms high, concentrating a ball of fire. With a
ravaging movement, the beast prepared to fire. The warriors had nowhere
to run and they knew that their defenses could not last. But the beast
did not fire. It hung its arms over its head without any movement at
all. It then leaned forward and fell to the ground. The fireball
disappeared and the monster’s body disintegrated.
"You should be more careful, Yoh." a voice said. After the
smoke cleared, a figure dressed in black with an oversoul sword stepped
forward. "Those hellion spirits are not to be underestimated."
A blue-haired girl in a kimono then stepped beside the figure.
"Those things are horrible." she said. Yoh looked to them
and smiled.
"Exile, Kirol..." Yoh tiredly said.
"I like to come at the right time. Excuse me if I’m
late." the black-clad figure said.
