Exile II: Inferno- Chapter 2: Shattered Peace
After the trials that Exile brought to him, Yoh was
back to his normal routine of training, eating, training, sneaking naps,
and training. Anna continued her routine of finding Yoh sleeping and
always increasing his training regiment. Yoh and Anna got the routine
visit from Manta, and the occasional visit from the other shamans as well.
Every now and then Yoh decided to throw a reunion party, even though Anna
always disapproved. But that never stopped Yoh. He threw a huge party,
inviting everyone.
Everybody came: Manta, Horo Horo, Pirika, Tamao, Ren, Lyserg, Jeanne,
Ryu, and all of their spirits.
"How come Faust and Chocolove never come?" Horo Horo asked.
"Because Faust has patients to attend to," Yoh said.
"and Chocolove...um...well...Chocolove..."
"It doesn’t matter." Ren said. "His jokes are
annoying." Everyone nodded in agreement.
"So," Yoh said. "What do you all say we start this
party?"
"What are we gonna’ do?" Horo Horo asked. "Eat?"
Pirika sighed.
"Yes, some food would be wonderful, Master Yoh." Ryu said.
Yoh nodded and walked into the kitchen for some food.
"It’s hard to believe that it’s been a month since Exile was
last here." Lyserg said.
"I know." Tamao quietly said. "Exile was never bad at
all."
"I agree. Sir Exile was a brilliant fighter." Ryu said.
"Sir Exile?" Ren asked.
"You must give a man respect, Ren." Ryu said. Ren brushed the
statement off.
"That Exile was really strong." Horo Horo said. "I’d
like to fight him myself." Yoh came walking out of the kitchen with
various foods.
"You’d get your butt kicked and handed to you." Yoh said.
"Exile was not easy."
"Oh yeah?" Horo Horo said.
"He’s right, Ainu. You couldn’t even beat Ryu, let alone
Exile."
"HEY!" Ryu and Horo Horo both yelled at Ren. "YOU WANNA
START SOMETHIN’?!"
"Bring it on!" Ren flared his oversoul. Ryu and Horo Horo
fired their’s up as well.
"Horo Horo!" Tamao tried to calm Horo Horo down, but Horo
Horo continued to show his bright oversoul light from his snowboard. Just
as everyone started to fight, a strong voice could be heard.
"BREAK IT UP!" Anna yelled. Everyone stood wide-eyed and
immediately sat down, breaking their oversouls.
"Yes, ma’m." Ryu and Horo Horo said. Ren just sulked. Yoh
laughed a bit.
"Big brother..." Pirika said, clenching her fist. Horo Horo
hid behind Tamao, who flushed a bit.
Everyone began to eat the food Yoh had brought out, especially Horo
Horo. Yoh brought out a few bottles of sake for everyone to drink. Horo
Horo didn’t bother drinking; he just ate.
"Ah, life is good." he said, after he was done. Pirika
sighed.
"Maybe your life. You didn’t leave any for us." Ren said.
The table was empty.
"Don’t worry," Yoh said. "I’ll get more." He
walked into the kitchen and came out with even more food. Pirika prevented
Horo Horo from eating all of this food as well.
"Just a bite?" he asked.
"No." she said, holding her fishing net which was securing
him. Horo Horo cried.
"Idiot." Ren said.
"Why you..." Horo Horo struggled to get free, but Pirika had
him trapped.
"Pirika, please let Horo Horo eat." Tamao asked.
"No." she said, holding her net tightly. "He’s eaten
enough."
"I agree." Ryu said.
"Oh yeah, everyone go on her side!" Horo Horo yelled.
Everyone began to bicker, Ren, Ryu, Pirika and Horo Horo about the food,
Tamao trying to calm them all down.
"SHUT UP!" Anna yelled. Everyone immediately shut up. Yoh
sweatdropped and smiled.
"Aw, c’mon Anna, lighten up." Yoh said, as he wrapped his
arm around her neck. A strong left hook slammed into his jaw.
"How dare you touch me!" Anna yelled.
"You’d think he’d learn..." Lyserg said, smiling. Jeanne
nodded. Yoh just smiled with a big bruise on his face.
"I’m used to it." he said. Everyone sighed except Anna, who
still had an anime vein popping out of her head.
The night continued with Horo Horo in Pirika’s net pleading for food,
Pirika refusing to let him go, Ren and Ryu arguing with Horo Horo, Tamao
trying to break it up, Anna breaking it up, and Yoh acting like an
ignoramus and getting a clean left hook, courtesy of Anna. The night ended
as such. As everyone was about to leave, Yoh heard a faint beeping. Soon,
it got louder and everybody could hear it. Yoh followed the beeping to his
room and found that the Oracle Pager was ringing. Everybody followed him
in.
"What is it, Yoh?" Manta asked. "Another Shaman
Fight?"
"I...I can’t read it. It’s full of static." Yoh said. He
continuously pressed the buttons on the Oracle Pager but the static still
stood. The beeping did not stop either. The glariness began to dim Yoh’s
eyes; he began to blink trying to return to his field of vision. The
static began to tint into a vibrant red shade. This made Yoh’s eyes
strain. Eventually, the static cleared and a solid shade of red was shown
on the screen. The ringing of the Oracle Pager began to quicken until it
was a solid beep. The Oracle Pager began to crack and spew light from its
sides. It then exploded. A boom and shatter could be heard. The glass and
materials were rained over the room, covering it in a thick layer of
broken bits of the Oracle Pager.
"Never seen that before." Horo Horo said, having escaped from
Pirika’s net.
"This is no time for joking!" Ren said.
"This is no time for fighting, either." Pirika said. Ren and
Horo shut up. Yoh slowly walked over to the broken relic.
"Yoh..." Anna quietly said. Yoh stared at the pieces.
"What made it do that?" he asked himself aloud. He then
realized a voice from outside the house. He rushed out the door, with the
others following him. Outside, armed with his spirits, was Silva.
"Yoh!" Silva called.
"Silva!" Yoh replied. "Something just-"
"I know." Silva cut him off. "Your Oracle Pager
broke."
"Not just broke, exploded!" Horo Horo yelled. "That
thing just blew to pieces." Pirika shut him up. Silva slowly drifted
to the ground, then disintegrated his oversouls.
"Yes, Horo Horo. That was no mere accident. The Great Spirit is
disturbed." Silva said. "Something has caused the Great Spirit
to feel great strain." Yoh’s eyes widened.
"Strain?"
"Yes. I came to find you. You’re the only one who can have the
Great Spirit’s power, so you must repair this problem." Silva said.
Yoh nodded. "We must leave immediately." Silva’s flared his
oversoul.
"Where?" Yoh asked.
"To Patch Village for now. I’ll tell you more when you arrive.
The rest of you should come too." Silva flew away with aid from his
spirits. A short pause grew.
"What shall we do?" Lyserg asked.
"Let’s go to Patch Village." Yoh said.
